Gender
An explaination of how gender affects me and a list of all the footnotes relating to gender.

Gender-free language
I know I really shouldn't need to stress this but gender-free language involves a lot more than a new set of pronouns. You can be 99% gender-free without using a single neologism.

The Androgyny RAQ
Back in late 1997 this site, along with the long dead Androgynarchy, was a great inspiration and triggered a huge reaction which came as a complete surprise at the time. Over the next four years whereever I went I always ended up back at androgyny's doorstep. Highly recommended, well written, thought provoking and amusing.

The Murk Manual
Technically not about gender transgression (except perhaps in a biological sense) but in a very similar style to the previous site. A satirical guide to medical intersex terminology.

Gender Euphoria
A sadly incomplete but wonderful non-linear, hyperlinked genderqueer tale. Recommended to all with a love of the trickster and a sense of delight. Also available in linear form for those with a phobia of the experimental.

Laughing Tranny
"Putting the euphoria back in dysphoria", Laughing Tranny looks at the more amusing side of transgender experience.

Sphere
A website and associated mailing list devoted to the exploration of gender as more complex than merely a binary or contiuum. Contains writings and personal experiences from numerous contributors.

The Neurois Outpost
Resources for those living as neither of the binary gender roles. Contains tips for obscuring gender signifiers. The site is currently without hosting, consider this a place maker intended to remind me to update the link when new hosting is found.

A Genderqueer Primer
A description of genderqueer for the uninitiated. From the equally recommended TESTEM.

Trannyboy: Femboyz
Make-up tips for transboys. Not necessarily genderqueer but the hints and tips apply to everyone who enjoys make-up but wishes to avoid consistantly passing as female.

A Precarious Condition
Chapter Twelve of Jan Morris' 'Conundrum'. While Jan Morris may not identify as genderqueer, this extract accurately describes many aspects of living with an appearance which is not immediately gendered by others.

Transgender Warrior: Leslie Feinberg
The personal website of Leslie Feinberg; Transgender activist and author of 'Trans Liberation', 'Transgender Warriors' and 'Stone Butch Blues'.

Kate Bornstein
The personal website of Kate Bornstein; Transgender activist and author of 'Gender Outlaws: On Men, Women and the Rest of Us', 'My Gender Workbook' and 'Nearly Roadkill'.
